Provide a list of similarities and differences between tropical cyclones and midlatitude cyclones. Provide a brief explanation for each of the similarities and each of the differences

  1. (1)Tropical cyclonic storms contain no fronts whereas the structure of extra-topical (middle-latitude) cyclonic storms is itself frontal.

    (2)Tropical cyclones originate in summer and early autumn whereas the other one is most frequent in winter.

    (3)If the tropical cyclonic storm enters higher latitudes, it may become extra-topical cyclone whereas the extra-tropical cyclone will never move into the tropics nor transforms into tropical cyclones.

    (4)Tropical cyclones have a calm,rainless centre(eye) which is absent in the other storms.

    (5) Tropical cyclones bring torrential rainfall whereas the rainfall is relatively less heavy in the other storm.

    (6)The isobars of the tropical cyclones are more circular and symmetrical than those of the other storm.
