Question:

Meth Overdose Question? ?

I have a friend that was found dead in the trunk of his own car on tues. The news said there was no sign of trauma or foul play but it was a suspected homocide? I havent seen him for about six months because I know he was strung out on meth. They said they were unable to find cause of death in his autopsy (the tox results are still pending). My question is this, If he had overdosed on meth (probably by injection) would the autopsy show signs of this before the tox results came back? Would he have signs of trauma from the actual overdose if thats what happened to him? Is there something that someone could have intentionally given him that looked like meth or heroin that would kill him without signs of trauma if he injected it? Please only answer this question if you are in law enforcement and have seen things like this or you know something about this question, I can do without the comments on his chosen lifestyle.

  1. I'm not a cop or anything like one but I do know that people don't smoke dope in the trunk of their cars because they like to. something had to happen where people placed him there after he died either from dope, naturally or homicide...  he may have been given poison to smoke or shoot up by someone who he might have owed or did not like him ( a dealer )

  2. Yes, you don't need any judgements from the peanut gallery. My doctor is both a coroner and an addiction doctor. He shows up at suspicious death scenes and gives his view of the death. The coroners office has it's team do autopsies to find the cause of death. If either he or the cops ask for it. Families can also ask.

My friend was given methadone, a synthetic opiate given to her friend who was in treatment of opioid dependence. She died on his couch. Of course it ended up as an autopsy thats how we found out how she died. I know you are talking about deadly methamphetamines or a wholly different drug heroin.

As a recovered addict you would be surprised where alcohol and drugs are taken. A truck is actually logical. Sorry to hear that.

  3. Maybe he OD'd with some other junkies, and that's how the others decided to get rid of his body.

  4. I would imagine that they probably found injection marks on him if that was what he was doing.  Maybe they just aren't saying until the tox results come back and they can see what he actually od'ed on.

  5. Weird place to give yourself an overdose in the trunk of the car maybe it was homicide.
