Question:

Method Brand Natural Cleaners?

My wife recently purchased some of the Method brand natural cleaners that are supposed to be good for the environment. The dish soap actually smells nice, like cucumbers.

All of this sounds great until I actually took a look at the package. Their packaging is very minimal in that there is very simple labels on the bottle with the name of the product and the proclamation that they are all natural and non-toxic.

THEN, I turned the bottle around and the entire back label is the safety warning stating that it may irritate the eyes, should not be consumed. IF consumed, contact a poison control center. IF it comes into contact with eyes then flush immediately with cold clean water.

I also noted that on the bottom of the front of the bottle, in small print, it tells you that this is also an "irritant"

How could they put "non toxic" and "naturally derived" on one part of the bottle then put another label on it that makes me want to wear a bio hazard suit when I use it?

  1. The ash from hearth in our kichen, my Maa ( mummy) used to clear our cooking pots, in old times. They knew it, ash is very good, they are wise...............

  2. I use Method all of the time, and I have not seen a label stating that you have to contact poison control. Maybe it was a label that was added by the seller, and not the company?

    According to Method:

method is non-toxic, meaning that no acute or chronic toxicity will result from use of or exposure to them (including oral exposure, e.g. drinking).

If method is accidentally ingested, it may cause an upset stomach. We recommend drinking a full glass of water or milk. Call a doctor or poison control if any symptoms beyond stomach discomfort arise.

    and :

method cleaning products are  non-toxic under normal usage conditions, do not give off harmful vapors and are safe for use around children, pets and women who are pregnant. All ingredients in our cleaning products were carefully screened before consideration as a formula ingredient to make sure they contributed to an effective cleaning process without presenting any possibility of harm to the user.

  3. they are non toxic because the irritant in them are natural acids found in plants.  and it can harm your eyes.  As for posion control these acids are safae in small amounts but if lets say a child drinks it then it could cause a problem.
