  1. The best way to do this is through a learning materials. Create your own learning materials, here are some ideas:

    1) Puppets or role play in which the story is about dealing with feelings.

    2) Posters about names of feelings.

    3) Acting Activities

    4) Learning through play.

  2. I use a curriculum called Second Step. It is an empathy training curriculum that teaches kids to recognize their own feelings as well as the feelings of others.  It uses puppets and picture cards to evoke verbal responses from the kids google it! It's great.  Check out some books about feelings from the library and always acknowledge children's feelings when they are obvious.  Good luck!

  3. The best way to teach feelings to young children is through modeling, role play, books, and labeling the feelings.

Feelings are an abstract concept, therefore they need concrete presentations, and young children often struggle to understand them.

Books are always a great place to start, focus on the most obvious feelings first: Happy, Sad, Mad, they are the jumping point for every other emotion.  They are also the easiest for children to recognize.

When a child is displaying their feelings in the class, identify it, or question how they are feeling, then help them identify WHY, if it as a negative feeling, work together to figure out how they can feel better.

if a child is experiencing and emotion b/c of another's action (good or bad) include both children in the conversation b/c the one that did something was feeling an emotion as well as the one who it got done to.

  4. i believe a poem thats nice and catchy that is based on happiness
