Metra from great lakes to downtown chicago??

Question

is there anyway i can take a train or tram to downtown chicago from somewhere near the naval base?? i dont feel like spending 100 bucks on a taxi

You get a discount when in uniform. You will arrive at Union Station, which is west of downtown. If you cross the river you will be headed east. It's a nice walk downtown, especially if you're interested in architecture.
