Metro Station lead singer?

Last week, there were news (Access Hollywood, those kinds of hollywood news) about Metro Station's lead singer Trace Cyrus being Miley Cyrus' brother. Metro Station is not a new band.. Why did those kinds of new just come up only this month? Why not 2 months ago?

Because metro station just got popular which sucks but yeah they probably just mentioned it now becuase more people know who metro station is now and not two months ago or two years ago
