The Mets made it official Thursday, announcing that Sandy Alderson will take over as GM and will be introduced at a press conference Friday at Citi Field. The 62-year-old will take over for Omar Minaya, who was ousted on Oct. 4. The former A's and Padres exec also worked for Major League Baseball, most recently in leading its attempt to stop the corruption in the sport throughout Latin America.
