Metz flash gun

Question

I don't think they make this model any more, but it looks very smilier to the 45 CL-1. My problem was that duty cycle was taking so long to charge up, so i replaced the capacitor, supplied from a Metz dealer but now i can only here a faint electric charging noise from the capacitor with no sustained electrolytic charge at all....does any one know what the problem is?
