The Schalke defender has insisted that the Dutchman will be a perfect replacement for Raul, who was a crucial part of the team.
There have been widespread rumours linking Tottenham Hotspur’s Rafael Van der Vaart to the Veltins-Arena in this summer’s transfer window. The club is looking for the replacement to the departed attacker Raul, who left for Al Sadd
at the end of the season.
Schalke have not denied that they are after the attacking midfielder and the Dutchman’s future has been under speculation after the departure of manager Harry Redknapp. If reports are to be believed, the prospect of playing in
the UEFA Champions League could turn out to be a huge factor in the transfer.

The former Real Madrid player however, admitted that there is still a chance that the club will find an internal replacement in the form of the highly-rated midfielder, Julian Draxler. He claimed that the youngster has immense
talent and the potential to become a great player for the future.
“After the departure of Raul, Van der Vaart would certainly be a top replacement. But I think we are more likely to rely on an internal solution. Julian Draxler is one of the candidates, I think,” he was quoted as saying in an
interview.
On the other hand, the defender is looking forward to a breakthrough season with Die Knappen. The player admitted that reaching the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League two years ago was a brilliant achievement and the team
