Metzelder hoping to get things back on track
The Die Knappen defender is confident of getting back to winning ways as Schalke face Viktoria Plzen in the UEFA Europa League next.

The home side leapfrogged Schalke on the Bundesliga standings table with the victory and the visitors dropped to the fourth place.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christoph-Metzelder-c9168 insisted that it was a poor performance away from home at Borussia Park. He admitted that the team certainly needs a win to get back on track and the clash against Viktoria Plzen in the UEFA Europa League is the perfect opportunity.
The player added that Schalke cannot afford any more points in the league as the competition is very tough at the top. He claimed that his side has a relatively tough schedule ahead this season considering the fixtures in the Europa League also and stated
that the team needs to maintain consistency.
“The defeat at Gladbach hurt a lot, especially in view of the way we performed, but the time for l*****g our wounds is over. The good thing about football is that you get a chance to make amends relatively quickly and this is a chance we're all really determined
to take against Viktoria Plzen,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Metzelder added that Schalke are already looking forward to their next league fixture against Wolfsburg at home. He admitted that it is a must win game as the top three sides on the table have winnable fixtures and any setback would mean a larger difference
from the top spot.
“That's an important game for us. We want to return to the level of performance we had on our recent good run. The bottom line is that we're still in a very good position in the league and have everything to fight for,” he concluded.
Schalke will travel to play Czech side Viktoria Plzen on Thursday, February 16, in the Round of 32. The visitors won Group-J and were unbeaten in the six fixtures played in the group stage.
