The Turkish international has made a good start to the new campaign for Stade Rennais but feels that he still needs to keep on progressing

In a bid to get some more playing time, Turkish international, Mevlut Erdinç chose to leave the financial luxuries at Paris Saint-Germain to sign for Stade Rennais in the winter transfer market earlier this year.
The former Sochaux striker left behind the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kevin-Gameiro-c20721 who have not played a big role in PSG’s quest for Championelle glory so far this season. The duo has played 164 and 310 minutes respectively while their former colleague
has played 941 minutes of Ligue 1 action.
And, the striker’s form has been exemplary since the beginning of the 2012/2013 campaign despite his side’s slow start to the campaign. The Turkish international has become a prolific goalscorer for Frederic Antonetti’s side by scoring seven goals in all
competitions.
While talking to reporters in the aftermath of his team’s 3-1 away win over Nancy Lorraine last night, the 25-year-old striker admitted that he was not at his best when he first arrived in Breton. However, a good summer camp has indeed done the Turk a world
of good.
“When I arrived in Rennais, I was not good at all because I did not play much in Paris. After that, the summer preparation has been good to me and I feel that I’ve found my true level.”
Still not looking to get carried away by a sensational start, Erdinç has said that he still needs to progress.
“All is not perfect either. Even if I score, I need to progress in the game.”
Seeing his January 2012 signing do ever so well this season, Frederic Antonetti feels that Erdinç is capable of making things easier for his team.
“Now, he must help is in preparing our attacks. Sometimes, you need a fulcrum to get everyone in the thick of things. He is capable of that and he will make things easier,” said Antonetti.
Next Saturday, Stade Rennais travel of Paris to face Erdinç’s old club Paris Saint-Germain at the Parc des Princes and the Turkish striker would be hoping that he does well in front of his former teammates.
