Mex vs hon-- yes or no....?

it's a simple yes or no, do you agree or not

oswaldo- he played good, stoped to goals. made one mistake when he kicked the ball to the banda when he got pressured. and the goal was one that nobody could stop, ( it hit the top let corner pole, thats to high for anybody.

salcido- played good but didnt run up enough, even after mexico noticed that honduras was playing back and playing for the draw.

marquez- only looked good when on the offensive, did good on the header but misplaced it by a few inches, looked good when he pushed up field. but overall played sloppy

magallon- was the most solid player of the team- i would say he cut out about 6-8 balls.

osorio- faded in and out of game at times and needed to push forward more when the other team is sitting back.

pardo- faded in and out of the game also but when it counted he put the team on his back and carried mexico.

wasnt that great on defense thou.

agusto-awful!!!! agusto looked like torrado out there, making sloppy fouls and caused mexico that goal, he shouldnt have fouled that guy so close to the box. i think he lost his place in his first game.

guardado- played good- not great- but good, he did push up field much, and when he did he held the ball to long.

arce- i felt bad for arce, the reason was he noticed gio was playing out wide to much and vela was having a hard time up top, so arce would try to hold the ball and run up to help out the strikers, which backfired on him because people thought he was being a ball hog. but think about it, if vela or gio dont do there job, it's up to a veteran or a winger to step up and make something happen on offense. played good

gio- sven played him up top, but gio was always out wide and back, just a few feet infront of arce, he left vela alone and put to much strain on vela. gio needs to be starting as a winger not a striker- he showed that at barcelona-

gio as a striker-- 4 out of ten

gio as a winger/attacking mid-- 8 out of ten

vela-- he played his heart out for the first 45 mins, but gio didnt have his back and that wore vela out fast, if vela would have had blanco,bravo or even franco, he would have ahd a better game.

overall

the team was asleep, they didnt catch on to the fact that honduras was playing back and only wanted to counter attack- mexico should have pressed forward and forced a error from the hondurian defense. the lows of the team were leandro- gio- osorio

the hi's of the team were - magallon, pardo, blanco

i hope we have vela and nerry up top next game.

Good analysis. But that's a lot of things for guys here to put a blanket "yes" on.

I didn't think Mexico were asleep - by all rights they should have been up 2-0 at halftime.

Mexico had legit chances. Honduras, no, and its goal was fluky.

yea i agree but you have to admit they pulled through and got the lead in 3 minutes. you have to give them props for that one.

salcido - yes. he did in the second half though which was good

marquez - yes, not his best by far

magallon - yes

osorio - yes

pardo - yes, but he made up for it with goals

augusto - no. he made one mistake, but distributed the ball well

guardado - yes. good, but not his best

arce - yes. he went up well, received balls extremely well, just had bad finishes

gio - yes, somewhat. gio shouldnt have started at all

vela - yes

overall - I agree. We didnt capitilize. Cant wait for nery to come back

1.No he made two big mistakes and ball skill sucks so i think Ochoa should be given a chance, but he did stop two important shots.

2.no, Didnt RUN UP! he was the one who ran all the way for that long ball and backheeled it to Guille to cross and Pardo scored.

3.Yes,  Played ok first half and very solid the second.

4.Yes, was the most solid and covered for Marquez well when he was uptop.

5.Yes, he played great first half then felt he had to stay back more

6.yes, he wasnt really able to mark Honduras big and fast players but had an amazing finish to the game

7.YES!! he played bad and torrado would of played ten times better, Naturalized playerd need to be better than the Mexican in that position and he's not. Torrado should start

8.Yes, played good but couldnt find anyone to pass to until Eriksson made changes.

9.Yes, Arce didnt get to play as comfortable as he wanted.

10.Yes, we needed Gio to play CAM not wing but that seemed like all he wanted to do. He shouldnt start yet

11.No, he played good but he's not ready to start we need to play with a CAM(blanco) and a CF(Bravo Guille or Nery) maybe by 2010 he will be ready but he goes too wide.

12.Yes, we need to just get used to Svens style o play. The players pretty much had to do it alone yesterday since they hadnt been with the coach that long.

13. No, vela should not start yet. I'm hoping for Cuau as CAM and Nery or Guille at CF.
