Didier Deschamps, the French International side’s manager, has made derogatory comments about Philippe Mexes regarding the player's faltering fitness
The coach was of the opinion that Mexes was not considered as part of the starting XI in the friendly match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926. Therefore, he was not a part of the French squad altogether.
The manager has criticised the defender publicly and has asked for an improvement in displays in the near future.
“He needs to stop talking about me,” the centre-back told the media. “He needs to stop saying that he won’t select me until I’m in good shape.”
The coach was obviously referring to the AC Milan player’s recent run of injuries and his inability to successfully recover from them. Most notably his left knee which has caused him troubles in the past and continues to be problematic.
Most recently he was seen limping away off the field in the Milan versus Anderlecht fixture. Earlier in the same game he scored with an unbelievable overhead strike.
This move showed no signs of a damaged limb or a lack of athletic ability but according to the number 5 his foot got caught in the turf and resulted in the trauma for which he had to return to the bench.
“He knows nothing about me, I’ve not spoken to him and he allows himself to say things which have nothing to do with the national side.” said the distinctly annoyed stopper.
There have also been rumours that he will be exiting his current club sooner or later. Although his performance has not been excellent it has been sufficient thus far for the Rossonerri. This obviously came as a shock to most of
the club’s fans who adore Mexes.
“That is simply not true,” the French player added. “I want to stay here and fight in order to leave my mark at this club.”
The former AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 man has openly shown his disapproval for his native team’s boss by saying “He knows nothing about me!”
The defensive player started his international career during the reign of the then French manager Raymond Domenech. He scored his first goal for the local team in a match against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749.
