Mexican Federal Highway 195 & 199 road surface condition, I am riding a Honda ST1100 which is poor off pavemen

Question

I am hoping to either ride from Tuxtla or San Cristobal north on either 199 or 195 and as the moto I am riding is poor off pavement, wonderful on pavement, does anybody have information on overall condition on either of these roads.

I should be riding through there late November 2007.

Any information of Tuxtla or San Cristobal themselves would be appreciated, meanwhile I am checking internet and thank you in advance for your help.

i was on a mexican federal highway in september and it was in bad bad bad shape. but in march it ok all the rain did it. i work for the state of texas highway it the same here but in mexico the holes were about 2 feet deep be careful

I have made this trip several times and you should not have a problem as long as you travel by day, topas without lights, and watch your speed on the numerous curves. It is a great trip to make on a bike.
