Mexican Pablo Cesar Cano scheduled to take on Colombian Fidel Monterrosa Munoz – Boxing News
Pablo Cesar Cano, the former NABA Mexico lightweight champion, will enter the ring against Colombian proud, Fidel Monterrosa Munoz, the former Colombian lightweight champion, in a non-title 10-round bout to be held on May 26, 2012.
The duo will co-headline the pay-per-view which is being dubbed as ‘Sabados De Corona’ and will be televised live on Mexico’s state television Televisa and Fox Deportes. The night will be headlined by the non-title 10-round super featherweight bout between
Sergio Thompson and Juan Ramon Solis.
Pablo, 22, has been in a total 25 bouts and boasts an impressive resume with 23 wins. The young Mexican proud has nailed a huge 18 men by knockout and has collected just one loss from the fists of Erik Morales.
Also known as the ‘El Demoledor’, Pablo has grabbed not only the NABA Mexico lightweight gold but has also proudly held the NABF light welterweight title as well. Moreover, in his bout with Erik Morales, the young lad competed for the vacant WBC light welterweight
title.
His Saturday night opponent, Fidel, has an upper hand over Pablo as far as the experience is concerned. Munoz, 23, has been in a total 34 bouts and emerged victorious in 29.
Moreover, Munoz is also a lethal knockout pounder in fact is feared by most in the division as he has nailed 23 of his opponents by knockout. The only negative facet that might put the odds somewhat against him is his win ratio.
The Colombian Munoz has collected five losses in his career and three via knockout. If Pablo tries his level best to use his range he might be able to knock Munoz out in the early rounds but at the same time it is the latter who has the height advantage
at his disposal.
Furthermore, Munoz will also be well aware of the above fact and that he cannot allow Pablo to breach his range and defence. It is this reason why the bouts will be a toe-to-toe one.
Munoz is coming from a two-bout win streak and has recently nailed heavily experienced Oscar Carrillo Villa and Dunis Linan. At the moment 70-80 percent odds are in favour of Pablo since he has a better resume, a decent win and knockout ratio.
Munoz, on the other hand, has 20-30 percent chances of winning the bout as he has the hometown advantage and experience on his side.
