My husband and I will be going on a cruise this October with a two other couples and I was wondering what would be better to pay for excursions through the cruiseline or venture off on our own? Anyone have any suggestions?

  1. I have been three times.  If you want to see the sights take the excursions the ship has.  It's really not that safe to be wandering around on your own.  Besides you will see a lot more.  Do not eat or drink anything in Mexico.  Get bottled water from the ship to take ashore. In Cabo you can walk though town on your own.  It's very small.  The glass bottom boat was fun and interesting.  Have fun.  That is a good cruise.

  2. I dunno about the excursions... but as for advice not to eat or drink anything in Mexico... hogwash... be aware. Look for places that are frequented by locals and that have sinks so the cooks can wash hands and vegies etc. Yes drink bottled water- but also enjoy Jugos and Aguas from restaurants- they are wonderful... Most, if not all, Tourist areas of Mexico use only bottled water in drinks, ice cubes, even at home- a 5 gallon jug of potable water costs 70 cents- so everyone uses it in abundance.

Enjoy Mexico- Experience the culture and don't be too afraid- just be wise!!
