  1. All inclusive on the Mexican Riviera?  I would definitely take a Carnival Cruise.  I have been twice to the Mexican Riviera aboard Carnival both times out of LA.  Fantastic, it's a great vacation for the money, and the kids have a ball.  They have a wonderful facility aboard all ships called Camp Carnival, the kids have a great time and so do mom and dad.  Great vaca for the dollar!

  2. Try Iberostars and the Riu's, I really suggest you stay in Playa Del Carmen, its location is ideal for tours and 5Th Ave. is nice and safe. Plenty of restaurants and shopping on 5Th. 5Th Ave. gives you somethings to do at night, if you stay at some of the other Hotels in the Riviera, they are isolated and quite a distance from town. (The Iberostars and Riu's in Playacar, are the ones I'm suggesting.) Check out this site you can see where the hotels in Playacar are located, (http://www.cancunfirstclass.com/playacar... it also has some other very insightful information on Playa and the Riviera. Tripadvisor.com is a very good source of information as well, including a good bit of info on restaurants. Plus, Playa is directly across from Cozumel, a ferry boat ride away.

Xcaret is only 5min. away from Playa, take a taxi and buy your tickets at the gate. It is cheaper than taking the tour option, just because it is so close. (The buffet at Xcaret is very good, but skip the dinner at the show just go to the show and eat back at the hotel.) Tulum/ Xel-Ha tour is also good. Chichen-Itza is an all day tour and a long way away.

Playatrips.com is a good detailed source for tours and if you need transpotation to your Hotel, check out Playatransfers.com Tello is the best in town.
