Question:

Mexican nicknames?

My husband works at a restaurant, where all the cooks are Mexican; the cooks give everyone animal nicknames, and I was wondering if there was anyone on Y!A from Mexico, who can explain what the nicknames mean-- specifically, what personal qualities the nicknames refer to. (Most of them are not too flattering, I guess, but are pretty &*(%$#@ funny.)

Here are the nicknames:

'Butterfly'

'Turtle'

'Snake'

'The Fly'

'Cockroach'

'Insecto'

I get the insect pest ones, pretty much, but what about 'turtle' and 'butterfly'? and 'snake'?

    Turtle:shy and slow

    Snake:smart and devious

  3. Sorry to a little rude and blunt, but everyone has there own meaning to the name you wrote....

Like for intense, "Butterfly"; means joto( g*y guy)

"The Fly"; means big eyes, and sh*ts a lot ,

or has a big a*s(referred to a women)

It just has to do with the person who's saying it and what it means to them......

    good luck
