Mexican pool?

I just got back from Mexico and Blize. They play a type of pool that when the balls are started out by putting a ball on every dot. along the rail. I just would like the name of the game also the rules.

I think I know what your talking about. It is an octagon shaped pool table with bumpers in the middle. Each player has five, I think, balls (one person has white ones and the other person has red ones). Then they try to get all of their balls in the other person's pocket, and they start out on theirs. I don't know what it is called I have always wanted to know.

i have guys come into the pool hall and play that game all the time ! to me jus looks like they bang balls around but i can ask them wat it is called ! and johnny is correct bout the 18 balls !

Every dot you would need 18 balls

If they shoot with the cue ball its practice really but they do bet on in Belise Watch out for Orlando Bota -ive seen him clear the table in 7 shots -it just helps cue ball control

If they shoot a # ball and kiss off the cue ball to make it We call it BS at the bar there are some that play it  but a real name you got me
