  1. I had to look up what you meant by "factors of production," and found this definition: In economics, factors of production are resources used in the production of goods and services, including land, labor, and capital. (sorry, been a long time since I had an econ course)...

As for Mexico, yes, Oil is number one. There's also natural gas.

According to the CIA World Factbook, the main exports are:

manufactured goods, oil and oil products, silver, fruits, vegetables, coffee, cotton.

I would also add corn. Other crops are: wheat, soybeans, rice, beans, beef, poultry, dairy products; wood products. And, if you care to mention it, Mexico is also a major producer of illicit drugs.

The labor force is about 45 million people. More than half of them working in services, a quarter in industry (like assembly plants), and a fifth in agriculture.

The major industries are: food and beverages, tobacco, chemicals, iron and steel, petroleum, mining, textiles, clothing, motor vehicles, consumer durables, tourism

If you need to do a map, you could look up the given product and Mexico, i.e. "oil Mexico", to get an idea of where it is being produced. Oil, for example, would be the Gulf of Mexico and a city like Ciudad del Carmen, Campeche. Cattle would be Hermosillo, Sonora. Tourism would be the beach resorts. Coffee in Chiapas and Oaxaca. Wood in Michoacan. Assembly plants in Ciudad Juarez and Tijuana (there are lots in the interior too). There are car-assembly plants outside of Mexico City (google Ford, I think it's in Toluca.) Copper mining is in Durango. Silver is in Guerrero (near Taxco) as well as in the north, I believe.

Sounds like a fun project. Enjoy!
