Hey everybody, im 20 years old from London, England. I am very interested in taking a trip to Mexico for a nice relaxing week in this beautiful place! Now i have been to Spain many times, but i really want to try Mexico as it looks SOOOO beautiful. But would i really have a relaxing time for just 7 nights coming from England? Or would it be best to go for 14 nights?? I could do that providing the cost isnt higher by a HUGE amount. But i would not know where to go, ive seen pictures and videos of Cancun and Cabo but im not sure!!

Any suggestions or advice would be very much appreciated!!

Muchas gracias ;-)

  1. Yeah stay on the coast in Cabo or Cancun, stay away from the inland, it is a bad place for tourists.

  2. Cancun is too crowded with tourists.  If you want to relax, head south of Cancun to the towns that make up the Riveria Maya--see the locogriingo site below.

  3. I have been three times to Mexico on the West side and in Vera Cruz on the  Gulf.

You could not pay me to go again.

Why do you think all the Mexicans are leaving? it's even bad for them.

You'll get stopped for jaywalking then taken to jail unless you come up with some money right there and then

    Mexico is NOT Spain

  4. Well it all depends on how much you are willing to spend. If you stay at an all inclusive, high end hotel or if you are easily pleased by not so high end. You have to consider that 7 days really turns into 5 days since 1 day to fly there and 1 to fly back.  Also think of the location you want to stay which seems to me that you want to relax. Cancun is more of a party town. I would suggest a city south of Cancun called Playa Del Carmen which is about 40miles(64km) from Cancun. This is the place you can relax all day. There is a chain of hotels in playa called RIU that many people from England come it is popular hotel.I stayed for 10 days this past April and it ran me 4000 usd(2800eur) with flight for two people from Texas,USA.. But be warned that the beaches at these hotels are almost non-existent because they have been washed away and there are HUGE sand bags to try to stop the beach from disappearing.  Good thing is that the city is a 5 mile(8km) taxi ride it would get you there fast or if you prefer you could walk it but not much people do it more than once, once  they notice that is a good distance. If you don't mind going a little further south to the Grand Palladium Resort(s) this is the place to stay the rooms are way better and the beach is awesome. They are 4 resorts in one so you can pick which one you would like to stay. If you want an ocean view stay in the White Sands hotel.
