  1. Ok, good for you, if you´re backpacking,  in Mexico City there is an Hostal just in Downtown Mexico City near the Cathedral.

Visit Puebla, visit Cuetzalan then Veracruz, Tlacotalpan, Villa hermosa, Campeche, Merida and Finaly Cancun.

Suggestions: From Mexico city Puebla, and Cuetzalan  bring a jacket, since it can get a little chilli. from veracruz to cancun the temperature will be warmer to really hot an humid.

While in Mexico City try to avoid travelling alone in the easter side of the city is dangerous, specially around the airport. Try to get all the taxis from a base called SITIOS DE TAXI, try to get your money from ATM inside Super Markets, and don´t show off, neither money watches or anything that tells peoples you have something of value. and when you go to Cancun go directly to the bus station and always keep your belongings with you until you get into the bus. Out side of Mexico city stops being so dangerous but you can never be too careful.

  2. Just this...it gets VERY cold in the mountains you will be travelling through in Nov....so have appropriate clothing and gear.  I live near Xalapa, anf the nites can be in the 40's.
