Mexican Americans have the highest crime rate; one of the highest High School drop-out rates; many gangs; illegal immigrants and unexpected pregnancies. The real Mexico is not like this. Why are Mexican-Americans like this?

  1. My high school spanish teacher told me it was because lower class mexicans, who do not have as much money are the ones who move to the united states. if you are rich and well to do in mexico you have no reason to leave

  2. This is a social problem.  Remember the parent of these kids came to the USA looking to provide their families, but the bast majority came without skills or education.  They didn't came to the USA looking for the American dream, they just came to work temporarily so they came  provide their families and then go back to Mexico.  They usually came and stay for a short season and them went back to Mexico.  They did this for many years, but as border crossing became harder they started to stay longer and longer until they decided to bring their families to live with them.  This kids felt left out since there were not being brought up with traditional American values, since their parents never wanted to immigrated to the USA permanently, they always dream of going back to Mexico.  In Mexico they don't like them very much either, they call them pochos.  The reason Mexicans don't like pochos is because when they go to Mexico they don't blend in with Mexican culture very well.  These kids feeling rejected in Mexico and in the USA started forming gangs looking to find their own identity.  Remember their parents usually were not very well educated and have to work long hours to provided their families and they did not make the effort to assimilated the American culture, so these kids where very confused and recent full toward Americans because they where being discriminated and Mexico because they didn't accepted them.

  3. The school systems in thee US teach the kids they can not be told by the parents what to do but they turn and hold the parents responsible for the childrens actions. There is no discipline.

I left the US one reason being what the Florida department of children and families did to me. I divorced my wife and disowned my step-daughter as she convinced the police and the DCF that I had done something unspeakable to her. I was told by the DCF guy in charge of the "case" that I was a bad parent.

I raised that child like my own since she was 5 months old. I never beat her, never abused her, never hurt her. She was an A+ student, sung in school choir, went to church several times a month and was actively involved in lots of school activities.

We moved to Florida when she was 14 and within a year, she was hanging with bad influences hearing how she could do what she wanted. She started getting into trouble and actually "borrowed" my vehicle while I was away on business. After she saw the cops at our house she abandoned the vehicle and did not go home for three days until I returned home.

When she saw that I had returned home, she turned herself in and told the cops that she had not returned home because she was scared. The idiot DCF took that as she was scared of me. The main DCF idiot in charge constantly changed my words around and my life became a pure h**l for the next year.

There is so much more to my nightmare but it would be a book

To make a long story short, 7 years later I live in South America, am happy, have a good job, nice house, and am married to the most fabulous woman in the world.

  4. Like most groups, we have our getto people too.  There's many Mexican are profesionals or hard working people and don't have many kids.  Not all Mexicans are educated or come from broken families.

  5. that is a very unintelligent and uninformed position to your question...These things have nothing whatsoever to do with Mexico. You contradict yourself if you are arguing this point. You should reword it or remove it entirely.

The people that create all these problems here are mostly, if not all, born here.

There are several theories as to why they live such destructive lives, but it certainly has mostly to do with ignorance. I think that they believe they're living some sort of twisted adventure, with them against the world...even against their own brethren. Concepts such as "turf' and "colors" and  "gang affiliation" are very juvenile.

But don't try to advertise that the majority of Chicanos are this way. I understand your final question...it's a sad waist of humanity...   I am not of Mexican nationality, but I have known many who are and I believe that they are predominantly kind, creative, beautiful and very intelligent people.

  6. So Americans won't want to go there and mess it up. j/k

The answer is pretty complex with a lot of variations, not the least of which would be inaccurate perceptions and misuse of statistics. Sadly discrimination has played an ugly role in our history and continues today putting pressures on many minorities (in the sociological sense). A lot of these "bad behavior" stats are responses to conditions such as poverty.
