Mexico passport?

last year i went to mexico without a pass port and i want to know if this year the passport law has taken affect yet or as last year do i just need a california license and birth certificcate

  1. Passports are required for AIR travel to and from Mexico...has been the law for over a year now.  Passports are Not needed for LAND and SEA travel to and from Mexico yet   This requirement has not been implemented but will be by June 2009.   See site below to read for yourself the requirements.  To travel by land or sea, you need a photo I.D. and a proof of citizenship...which can be a passport OR a birth certificate.


  2. You need a passport to leave the United States.  Goto the

    Homeland Security website if you are serious.  Passports take weeks to get after your application is received.  Plan ahead.

  3. As of this date, no, you do not need a passport for mexico.

    But that could change soon.
