Mexico spring break safety?

hi there im going to rosarito for spring break for 3 1/2 days and am a bit concerned about hearing how mexico isnt safe and all. Im going with a orginazation and a group of friends. Can anyone help me to relieve the stress of going?

Be aware of what's going on around you, don't drink to excess, stay with your group. Mexico is as safe as any other country in the world for tourists.

Don't be such a victim of media.

If we see on media, USA seems to be a very bad place: drugs, gunshots everywhere (schools, churchs, malls, etc.), racism, kidnappings, and more.

Media lives on scandalism, don't believe that all.

Just be smart, don't do stupis things you won't do anywhere, like get drunk, go to strange places, and things like that

Watch out for the overuse of alcohol and strictly avoid the drugs and the prosties and you should be just fine.  I mean, don't be dumb and go into dark alleys, etc, but you would need to that in downtown anywhere, USA, too.

Mexico is wonderful, but don't check your common sense at the border. You'll be doing all the tourist stuff in the tourist areas and the Mexicans want you to be safe. The more you come back, the more money you spend.

Well im mexican, it depends where you go, and how you behaive, here in mexico sping breaks has a really bad fame, allways all our hotels and people, also all eurpean people run away from spring breakers. They say they drink so much and they do things in therir country they cant because so many rules and law. So i think if you go to a good hotel, respect people, places such as Cancun, Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Puerto Vallarta you will be 100% safe.

Sure...no need to worry...I went through this myself.

If you are staying in a resort it will be just fine. Many times they will have guards on duty 24/7 there for your safety.  If you go into down make sure you dont carry a wallet or anything like that. Take a friend with you~  hang out in the hotel in the evenings and you will be fine! Have fun!!!
