has anyone ever been to moon palace resort in mexico...and what do you think...Is it a good vacation

Hi,

You are on the beach, however, you are not in the Hotel Zone.

Good or Bad you are isolated from the shopping areas. The hotel front desk can give you the best advice on how to travel into downtown Cancun. There is a shopping center that you can bargain for all your gifts. This is in downtown Cancun. IF you go to the Hotel Zone you will pay about 30% higher rates there, you are a captive audience. So work your way downtown. The American Mall is not your best bet.

I take it you are going with the all-inclusive package, You will have a lot to do in and around the Hotel. All the beach front is open to the public, you included. You will have vendors trying to sell you items along the beach.

The hotel will advertise tours to a number of locations some are good deals depending on what you'd like to see.

If you can make it to Cozumel or Playa del Carmen you will find very good deals on gifts. There is a bus service from Cancun to Playa del Carmen, takes about 1hour 10 minutes and cost $8.00 one way. The Ferry to Cozumel from Playa is $16.00 one way.

One thing to keep in mind the entire shopping scene in Mexico is run by a Union. Granted it's a lose union none the less they will work deals for you.

It's a great place to vacation. They have the best pool with 2 swim up bars. The food and drinks are plentiful.

What I like about Moon Palace, you can take a shuttle bus to all the other Palace resorts and spend the day complimentary.

The only down side is the beach water isn't the best. Seaweed in the water. The beach staff is constantly cleaning the beach. The beach it self is okay. If you swim out past the seaweed it gets better.

We loved the staff and the rooms. Just remember to bring some dollars for tip money. The staff work hard. You will be rewarded with even better service.

It is a nice resort and a great vacation.  I prefer the cancun palace because of the location, but you will enjoy your visit to any of the palace resorts.  Dont stress......just enjoy Cancun.

Moon Palace is a very nice all inclusive hotel.

Cancun in general is a very nice vacation destination.  It offers natural beauty, some pre-hispanic ruins and fun activities, including clubs, snorkel, shopping, etc.

If you are into all-inclusive Moon Palace is not a bad choice.  The only note of caution is its location. They are outside the Cancun hotel area and far from Playa del Carmen.  It is also far from the main road.  So the only choices you have to go outside resort are: taxi, rent a car or take the hotel shuttles.  But if you are selecting an all inclusive, I assume you are planning to stay in the hotel most of the time, so it wont matter.
