Which are the best deals and what time of year is best?

In my opinion, there are two good ways to do mexico in an affordable manner. First off is take a cruise. They're simple and basically all inclusive. For about $250 per person my family and I went on a mexican cruise this christmas. The $250 includes all of the wonderful food you can eat, a room (of course) and free entertainment on the ship. What it does not include though, which is key for us, is alchoholic beverages.

The other way to do it would be to visit an all inclusive resort. some of these places are suprisingly affordable; sometimes less than $100 a night, which DOES include all the alchohol you can drink.

Both the cruises and the all inclusives are more expensive in the summer and the spring, but thats because its a better time to go. Our christmas cruise was a lot of fun, but I was hoping for sun and heat and what I got was clouds and drizzle.

The best deals are all--inclusive resorts: Free meals, activities, and great service!  I went to a place called Barcelo Maya Beach, it is in the Riviera Maya and sooo much fun! You should google it......

It is cheaper to go in the summer, and also less crowded, that is when i went!  

It was about $850 dollars a person, but that includes meals and other stuff like the hotel room!!!!

Definately the Swim with Dolphins, this is fantastic especially if you go to Dolphin Discovery on Isla Mujeres, as you have a 40 minute boat ride there and back with open bar and entertainment.

The Captain Hook Pirate ships are another fun thing to try.

A Jungle tour through the mangroves, with snorkelling over the Coral reefs.

If you´re into diving, then Call Ben Mooney at http://www.mayanaquadive.com as he knows some great dive sites.

Xcaret is a wonderful day out, as you get to enjoy an ecopark, with dolphins, turtles ect and then get to watch probably the best show in the whole of Mexico at night.

A catamaran trip with http://www.cancuncatamarans.com is a must, a day sailing and snorkeling, with buffet lunch on Isla Mujeres, open bar, a shopping trip and the chance to have your picture taken holding a live shark.

At night, try the Cancun Party Hopper, there are now 2 different versions going to different bars, and they are great fun.
