Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl DE Cameron Wake praises his fellow teammate Jared Odrick for hard work – NFL News
Miami Dolphins’ Cameron Wake is happy that his hard work on the field has been finally recognised after the player was named for the National Football League (NFL) 2013 Pro Bowl recently.
Wake is the only Dolphins player who has been selected for the Pro Bowl this year. However, he did not forget how his teammate Jared Odrick has helped him in achieving the feat.
Odrick has slowly and steadily helped his teammate put up big numbers on the field in the 2012 season.
After fifteen regular season games, Odrick is in second place in the Dolphins roster behind Wake in terms of sacks with a total of 5.0 and quarterback hits with 12. The player has also got 11 tackles for loss.
Moreover, Odrick has played an instrumental role in keeping the Phins’ defensive line strong when the team faced a number of injuries. According to the team’s website, Wake said:
“He can play every position on the line, literally, It’s one of those situations where he’s like the universal blood donor with O-Type blood. He can do it all. He’s big enough and strong enough to take on another double team from the nose but he’s also quick
enough and agile enough to be on the outside rushing as an end on these tackles.”
Wake also gave credit to Odrick for helping him in getting a career-high 15 sacks till Week 16 of this season.
Even though Odrick is designated as defensive end in roster, the player has also played as a centre and has also played on both sides of the defensive line as a tackle.
The player is also renowned for his Pee Wee Herman Sack dance which he does after a sack. Giving views about his own performance this season, Odrick said:
“It seems that it’s snuck up on a lot of people and as long as I can keep sneaking up on people and keep surprising people then one day it won’t be a surprise anymore.”
