Miami Dolphins QB Ryan Tannehill happy over reunion with college coach Mike Sherman-NFL News
Miami Dolphins’ rookie quarterback, Ryan Tannehill, does not foresee any major shift in the strategy of his offensive coordinator, Mike Sherman.
Sherman has trained Tannehill at Texas A&M College. They are now reunited at Dolphins, and according to the player, he considers the coach’s rule book to be 80 to 85 percent same.
He said:
"I try to help out as much as I can. Being in the offense for four years back at A&M, it's not my first go-around. So I'm trying to help these guys learn as much as they can ... just help speed their learning curve up.”
Dolphins hired Tannehill as eighth overall pick in first round of the 2012 National Football League (NFL) draft, held from April 26 to 28, 2012. He is yet to sign a deal with the team.
In one of the recent statements, the player expressed great hopes of giving his best to the team.
He said to be expecting himself in the leading role, which, he believes, will help to keep the squad intact.
He said:
"I hope I'm looked at as the leader of the team. I want to try to get guys going and get guys playing together and make everyone around me better. That's the job of a leader; that's the job of a quarterback."
It is yet to be seen how well Tannehill performs but fans are pleased with his signing since for the first time, they see their team becoming capable of pulling up successive wins.
Dolphins’ managers have been brought under the line of fire from fans over their failure to woo Peyton Manning, after he was released by Indianapolis Colts.
With some reports claiming that Dolphins’ owner, Stephen Ross, was meddling into the team’s affairs, the level of fans’ anger was even higher.
Some of the diehard followers of the team had staged a protest in front of the team’s headquarters over mishandling of the team affairs, especially over the owner’s involvement in the hiring firing matters.
However, Ross denied having any influence in the front office affairs, saying the managers were independent and free to take decisions on almost all matters.
