Miami Dolphins not to release injured QB Sage Rosenfels – NFL News
The Miami Dolphins have said that they will not release their quarterback Sage Rosenfels despite him being on an injured reserve list, shattering hopes for his reunion with his old team the Houston Texans.
Luck has not come to Texans' way despite their desperate attempts for finding Matt Schaub and Matt Leinart's replacement at their quarterback position. As a last resort their old player Rosenfels was expected to come to their help
in form of his reunification with them on hopes that he was being released by the Dolphins.
However independent reports have confirmed that the Dolphins have refused to release him despite the fact that he was not of any use to them since being on IR list.
Earlier, information available online has indicated that he was being released by the Dolphins. He was also reported to rejoin the Texans soon after his release. He had already played with the Texans in 2006, 2007 and 2008 seasons
consecutively.
But the Dolphins have now said that they plan to hold on to the player this season despite, according to independent reports, he has been suffering from an undisclosed illness, the most likely reason for him to be on IR list.
It was only last week that the Texans had signed Kellen Clemens. However, they have already run into a misery of injuries to a number of their key players. Even Clemens was inactive in their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.
However, their worst nightmare is their injuries at quarterback position. Matt Schaub, their star quarterback, had already been out for his season-ending foot injury. He was replaced by Matt Leinart to start at his position in
their game against the Jaguars. However, his comeback in first game, since 2009 was short-lived, for merely an half hour, that he suffered apparently a shoulder injury.
It is now being confirmed that his injury is in fact a collarbone and he is expected to sit outside for rest of current season, prompting the Texans to hunt a solution for quarterback position, either within the team or from outside.
They are already weighing a number of options.
