Miami Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill not hesitant to take on New England Patriots – NFL News
Miami Dolphins are facing a gigantic task of taking down the mighty New England Patriots in Week 13 on Sunday, December 02, 2012. However, their rookie quarterback Ryan Tannehill does not believe that is the case.
Talking to the reporters on Wednesday, Tannehill said that playing against Patriots will not be a massive test for him. According to the Miami Herald, Tannehill said:
"They're just another team. They're a really good team. They've won a lot of games this year. But it's not something that affects us."
These are daring comments from a rookie who has not played against Patriots up to this point. Watching Patriots produce marvels on the field throughout last decade is one thing, facing them is another.
However, Tannehill’s remarks were backed up by veteran linebacker Karlos Dansby who went on to say that there are many teams in the league – not just Patriots – that deserve respect. He said:
"A lot of teams have been among the elite. Everybody has prestige behind their organization. What makes them different than anybody else? Every team in the AFC East has prestige behind them -- even the Buffalo Bills. [Sheesh], they went to the Super Bowl
four times in a row and didn't win it. So playing them is just like playing the New England Patriots."
No matter what the perception is in the minds of Dolphins rank, there seems to be a dare need of analysing the record amongst their players.
Patriots (8-3) have won the American Football Conference (AFC) East title in 10 out of last 12 seasons and have reached as many as five Super Bowls in that period while winning three of them.
The team is leading the league for the number of points scored this season, thanks to sparking performance by their elite quarterback Tom Brady. The Pats are on the way to secure another division title.
The confidence seems to be sky high for Dolphins after their 24-21 victory over Seattle Seahawks.
However, if this confidence turns into over confidence, it can lead to a disastrous performance against Patriots which in turn could hurt their playoff hopes.
