Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush do not have any structural damage to his knee – NFL News
Even after losing the game against New York Jets on Sunday, September 23, 2012, Miami Dolphins (1-2) got some good news on Monday, September 24, as their star running back Reggie Bush was declared not to have any structural damage to his injured knee.
Bush got a knee injury during the final minutes of the first half of Week 3 game versus Jets. He looked to be in great pain as he limped off the field. Bush himself announced the news on Monday via a Twitter post that said:
"Received some great news today! Praise the Lord!"
The running back went through some tests on Sunday to evaluate seriousness of the injury which later came out negative.
According to various reports, Bush could return for Dolphins Week 4 game against Arizona Cardinals.
Bush has given extraordinary performances this season. He is currently standing with 302 yards in only three games with an average of six yards per carry.
His presence in the game on Sunday will give a vital boost to the Dolphins chances of winning. Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin said:
"I like what he's done, every single game. He's been productive in every game, he's played hard in every game, he's been sound. So he's done a very, very good job.”
Bush has a history of getting knee injuries. He has previously injured the same knee. If he remains unavailable for Week 4 game, Dolphins will likely play rookie running back Lamar Miller, who played in the second half of the game against Jets.
Miller got 48 yards on nine carries during the game. Dolphins can also start with backup running back Daniel Thomas, who ended up with 69 yards on 19 carries during the last game.
Last season, Bush played 15 games and covered 1,086 rushing yards alongside six touchdowns.
Bush was drafted by Saints as the second overall pick in the 2006 draft. He is regarded as one of the best playmakers currently playing in the league.
