Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush returns to practice, wants to play in Week 4 game – NFL News
Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush had his first workout in the practice session on Thursday, September 27, 2012, making his chances even more likely to play in Week 4 game on Sunday, September 30, 2012 against Arizona Cardinals.
Bush expressed his opinion about his fitness on Wednesday, September 26, giving view that he was fit enough to play on Sunday. According to the Sun Sentinel, Bush said:
"I really don't know. That's something you've got to ask Coach about because I'll tell you right now I'm playing Sunday, but I'm sure that's why I'm not the head coach. I'm going to do everything I can from a physical and mental standpoint to prepare myself
as if I'm playing Sunday and, if I get the call, then I'll be ready to go."
The running back injured his knee during the final seconds of the first half of Bills’ Week 3 game against New York Jets. Dolphins lost the game 20-23.
Bush returned to the sidelines during the game and rode exercise bike before returning to the locker room in third quarter.
The running back went through MRI scans which came out negative, clearing the suspicion of having some kind of internal structural damage.
Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin has not yet decided whether Bush will be available for Sunday’s game. Philbin said:
"You just need to trust your eyes, watch the film and see where he's at. Obviously, health and safety of the players is the No. 1 concern. I'm sure if he's healthy enough, he'll play.”
If Bush remains unavailable for the game against Cardinals, Dolphins will then have to work with either Daniel Thomas or Lamar Miller. Bush praised both the players and said that they have improved their game.
Dolphins are eagerly awaiting Bush’s return. He has been phenomenal this season, recording 302 yards on 50 carries with an average of around six yards per carry.
Bush has also scored two touchdowns during the season. In the last game he carried the ball ten times for 61 yards in the first half before getting injured.
