Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush uneasy about his future – NFL News
It is now looking highly likely that Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush will become a free agent at the end of the 2012 season as the player has shown concerns about continuing to play for the team in years to come.
During an interview with Miami Herald on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, Bush expressed uncertainty about his future with the Dolphins. Bush said:
"It's getting pretty late; it’s getting pretty late... It's a little uneasy and unsure, but at the same time, exciting, because you know there are opportunities out there. I'd love to stay here, but part of me says, 'Well, there's nothing been on the table
quite yet.' I'm remaining optimistic."
Dolphins are yet to start deal talks with their best running back. Bush is currently leading the team for rushing yards covered.
Bush first indicated before the season that he was aiming to lead the league. Although he is yet to be named the best running back in the league, the player has been able to lead the offence forward on many occasions this season.
However, Dolphins have shown no signs of interest in re-signing the running back. Even though Bush has been limited on the field, he is way better than the Dolphins current options at running back. They include Lamar Miller and Daniel Thomas. Giving his
opinion about Bush, head coach Joe Philbin said:
“I like the way he goes about his business. He’s made a valuable contribution on the field, and I think he’s a guy that young guys look up to. He’s a good example for the younger players.”
Dolphins might have a plan to draft a good quality running back next year or they might end up adding another veteran from free agency. If that is true, Bush would be playing his final few games as a Dolphins’ player.
Salary might be the reason for Dolphins turning their eyes away from Bush, as a rookie will cost them less in coming years.
