Boston Celtics quickly recovered from a blowout in Game-6 of the Eastern Conference and gave Miami Heat a run for their money early in the series decider
With a spot in the NBA Finals and their legacy at stake the Boston Celtics matched the Miami Heat in the first few minutes of the quarter, before erupting with a 15-4 run to take a 23-14 lead. The Heat responded with a 9-2 run
to make it a two point game, but the Celtics capped the frame with a deuce to take a four point lead into the second quarter.
The Greens were led by Ray Allen in the first 12 minutes. The veteran sharp shooter was exquisite form the land of three and gave Boston the early momentum with two strikes from there. He then chipped in with two free throws late
in the period to make it 25-17.
Rondo didn’t have a good shooting period, but more than made up for that with 5 dimes. Kevin Garnett had 6 points till the first quarter, while Paul Pierce added 5 for the C’s, who after starting the game with three missed shots
from the floor, canned 9 of their next 11 to open up a nine point lead. However, they then made only 1-of-7 in the ensuing passage as the Heat closed in on the lead.
Miami were expectedly headed by LeBron, who scored 8 points and hauled down three rebounds. Dwyane struggled to get it going again early in the game and managed only 5 points while Chris Bosh started off the bench for 2 points
and 1 rebound.
Heat however got ample support from Shane Battier, who made back to back three’s early in the frame, finishing it with 6 points.
Boston displayed a sense of urgency in the quarter and shored up their defence, making it very difficult for James and Wade to penetrate. Unlike the Game-6, James was finding it hard to make his jumpers and had to rely on the free
throws to do his scoring. He scored 6 of his 8 points from the foul line.
