LeBron James on fire as Miami Heat turn the pressure on Oklahoma City Thunder in the third quarter
The third quarter of Game 4 saw Miami Heat come back from behind to lead 79-75 before heading into the final quarter. The momentum built from an impressive second quarter allowed Miami to keep rolling and come up with some spectacular
plays.
Oklahoma City Thunder on the other hand were struggling to run offense as a team and nearly of their scoring in the quarter came courtesy of individual offensive moves.
LeBron James led the Heat comeback with 10 points in the third quarter, taking his total to 20 points for the game. Along with being dominant on the score board, James led his team brilliantly with his ball distribution. By the
close of the third quarter, he already had 12 assists in the game to go along with 9 rebounds.
Dwyane Wade was not far behind. He managed to get 10 points in the period as well and the aggressiveness in running toward the cup allowed him to get three trips to the free throw line for 6 easy points.
The third All-star in the Miami line up however was not that very effective on the offensive end and could only manage 3 points in the quarter to take his total to 11 points. Nonetheless, Bosh cleaned up the glass well and had
8 rebounds in the game by then.
The most impressive thing about the Heat was the performance of their role players. Mario Chalmers had a great third quarter by racking up 7 points which included a key three pointer to put his team up by 4 points at a crucial
stage of the game.
After trailing in the game since the get go, it took Miami about 4 and half minutes to even up at the scores at 60 each.
In the following minute, Heat added 6 more unanswered points to their tally to 66-60, however OKC were not going out that easy. They quickly put together a 6-2 run of their own to make it a one possession game.
Shane Battier had been silent for most of the game with only a single point to his name but he managed to knock down an open look from beyond the arc on Wade`s assist to give Miami a 5 point lead.
For the remaining time left in the third quarter, LeBron decided to put his imprint on the game. He scored the final 8 points for Miami in the period to stun the Thunder.
Kevin Durant tried his best to keep his team alive in the game by racking up 10 points in the period while Russell Westbrook chipped in 8 points in this quarter. However the lack of productivity from the remaining Thunder players
proved to be a huge setback for them in this one.
