Miami Heat continue to rumble in the fourth; Put away Boston Celtics Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals
Miami Heat got off and running in their Eastern Conference Finals series against the Boston Celtics by coming out 93-79 winners in Game-1 at the American Airlines Arena on Monday night.
LeBron James led the way with 32 points in the ball game and was not required much in the final quarter after doing most of the damage in the first three quarters. He also had 13 rebounds and 3 blocks in the game.
Dwyane Wade was spectacular in the game as well especially in the second half. He managed 8 points in the fourth quarter before signing off on the night with a tally of 20 points to his name.
The role players for Miami were also extremely efficient in the game. Shane Battier managed to put together a double-double performance in the game with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Mario Chalmers and Mike Miller managed 9 and 8 points respectively in the game and were not required to score in the final quarter of the game.
Miami were also very efficient while cleaning up the glass, they out-rebounded the Celtics 48-33 in the game with 13 of them coming on the offensive glass which led to easy points on most occasions.
For the Celtics, it was the type of performance they would quickly want to forget, especially the woeful conversion rate in the second half. They shot the ball 39.5% from the field and went 4 of 14 from long range on the night.
The only standout performance from a Celtics point of view came from Kevin Garnett, who himself managed only 3 points in the final quarter to finish the game with a total of 23 points. Paul Pierce went scoreless in the fourth quarter and finished with 12 points to his name.
Brandon Bass, who went scoreless in the first half, managed 4 in the third quarter and 4 in the fourth to end the game with 8 points while Rajon Rondo recorded 6 points in the last 12 minutes.
Another player that went scoreless for the Celtics in the fourth quarter was Ray Allen who managed to only knock down 1 of his 7 field goal attempts in the ball game.
