Ray Allen hits the money ball from long range to send the game into overtime
In the fourth quarter of Game 2 in this Eastern Conference Finals series, the Boston Celtics rallied their way back and managed to send the game into overtime with the score line being 99-each.
Rajon Rondo was leading the charge with 32 points in the game with 6 of them coming in the final quarter of the game. Kevin Garnett also had a great fourth quarter. After posting only 8 points in the first three quarters, he managed to chip in 10 points in frame to take his tally to 18 points.
Ray Allen went scoreless for the first 11 minutes of the fourth quarter but had the last say when he knocked down a dagger from long range to send the game into overtime.
One thing that did not go in the favour of the Celtics was Paul Pierce getting fouled out of the game with 47.7 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. He had managed 21 points till that point.
From the Miami point of view it was the type of quarter they would not have wanted. Looking comfortable and having all the momentum on their side entering the last 12 minutes of regulation, the Heat went into a shooting slump and had a 4 of 14 shooting performance in the quarter.
LeBron James had 30 points by the end of the frame; however he failed to connect on the most crucial shots of the game. He missed a layup with 20.9 seconds remaining in the frame and then with 1.9 seconds left on the clock, James missed a clutch jumper over Rondo.
The poor shooting also returned for Wade as well as he could only add one point to his tally and that too coming from the free throw line. He closed out the regular playing time with 15 points to his name.
Mario Chalmers managed 5 points in the fourth quarter while Shane Battier and Mike Miller had 9 and 7 points to their names up to that point in the game.
