Miami Heat beat Chicago Bulls 85-75 in game-2 of Eastern Conference Finals
Miami Heat bounced back from a blow-out defeat in the first game of the Eastern Conference Final series and beat the Chicago Bulls 85-75 on Wednesday night at the United Center. With this victory, the Heat evened best-of-seven
series 1-1.
LeBron James had an outstanding game for Miami. The 26-year-old small forward bounced back for a 5-of-15 shooting and 15 points in game-1 and recorded a game-high 29 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists in the victory.
Guard Dwyane Wade chipped in with 24 points and nine rebounds while forward Udonis Haslem came off the bench with 13 points and five rebounds for the Heat. Chris Bosh, the leading scorer for Miami in game-1 with 30 points and nine
rebounds, however failed to find his rhythm in this game and ended with just 10 points and eight rebounds.
Only two players of Chicago scored points in double figures. The league MVP, Derrick Rose, led the Bulls with a team-high 21 points, eight assists, and six rebounds. However, poor shooting continued to be the main problem for the
Chicago’s guard. Rose finished on a 7-for-23 shooting from the field. Luol Deng also scored 13 points and five rebounds in the defeat.
King James was confident about their comeback in the contest and had said before the game that they have the ability to learn from their mistakes. The NBA superstar, James, played like a man on a mission, fulfilling the role of
the leading scorer for Miami and once established his status as the best forward in the league.
The Heat off to a good start and reeled off a 8-3 run to take initial lead. The Bulls however controlled the situation from there on. They first tied the scores at 8 on the 07:48 mark and then dominated the quarter that was capped
by an audacious half court buzzer beater by Loul Deng. Rose scored nine of his points in the first 12 minutes as Chicago carried a 26-19 lead into the second.
Miami turned the Heat on the Bulls in the second quarter and successfully converted their 7-point deficit into a 48-46 advantage at halftime. Chicago’s starters seemed to miss the beat in the third quarter as well and Miami took
advantage to widen their lead to 71-65, heading into the fourth.
The Bulls found some momentum in the fourth quarter and levelled the score at 73-73 with 07:16 to go in the game. However, Chicago lacked the finishing touch as the Heat went on a 12-2 run to eventually win the game by a 10-point
margin.
