Miami Heat cancel practice and press conference after the Game 3 loss – NBA playoff Update
The troublesome times seem to have caught up with the Miami Heat ever since they lost the Game 2 of their Eastern Conference Semi Final Series against the Indiana Pacers.
Last night, they went into the Bankers Life Fieldhouse Area expecting to get back to winning ways; however what they received was a 19 point thrashing by the Pacers, which has further laid a huge question mark on the credibility
of this Miami unit as they now trail 1-2 in the series.
Entering the series as clear cut favourites, the Heat never expected to at least be routed by the Pacers. The aftershock of the blowout loss were expected and came early on Friday when the Heat cancelled their routine practice
and have made them-selves unavailable to the media. No particular reason for the cancellations was given on the Heat telephone hotline.
According to the NBA rules if a team does not hold practice, then they are not allowed to speak to the media or hold any kind of a press conference. On the other hand, Pacers have also cancelled practice and will not be available
to the media.
This Miami teams currently finds itself in a whole lot of trouble, after their only weapon inside the painted area in Chris Bosh went down due to abdominal strain. There is no confirmation of the fact as to when the power forward
will be able to return to action.
The 94-75 loss to the Pacers had more troubling moments for the Heat when Dwyane Wade had a very serious argument with head coach Erik Spoelstra. Even though Spoelstra has come out to label it a non issue and signalled out that
things like these happen all the time, but Wade`s refusal to speak on the topic in the after match press conference does depict that there is something seriously wrong.
Troubles for Wade have been very prominent in this series as he has struggled to find his scoring rhythm throughout and has been fairly inconsistent with his performances.
He finished Game 3 with only 5 points on a 2 of 13 shooting night which probably was one of the worst games of his playoff career.  Wade has only knocked down 10 of his 35 field goal attempts in the last two losses and is shooting
28.6% from the field.
But the troubles do not end there. The Miami offense was not just absent in the last game, it has been a no show in all three games against the Pacers.
When asked about Wade`s performance and the courtside episode with Spoelstra, LeBron James contemplated on the matter by saying that Wade is troubled by something and was very clear on the fact that he is not being himself.
"It's obvious he wasn't himself," James said. "Does he want to play better? Of course. He's one of the best players in the world."
With Wade struggling and James doing all that he can to carry the Heat, is this Miami team running out of gas at the wrong time or will they be able to rise to the occasion and help the MVP of this season in his pursuit to carry
this unit to an NBA Championship. We will have to wait on that, but the way things stand at the moment, that is looking tough.
