Miami Heat continue to blow cold
What is wrong with the Miami Heats? It is a million dollar question that is circulating in the NBA league and nobody seems to have the answer to it.
The Heats boast of the firepower that most teams in the league can only dream of. Two times reigning MVP LeBron James and Chris Bosh have joined forces with Dwyane Wade this season and the trio form perhaps one of the most potent combinations ever in the
league history and it just doesn’t end here for Miami.
The ‘Big Three’ of the Heats are complemented by a powerful bench, with a collection of blue-collar role players and feared perimeter shooters. With so much strength and depth at hand, many pundits of the game tipped them to turn the tables on two times
champions Los Angeles Lakers this time around.
Yet the fashion in which the Heats have started the season they look anything but a champion team.
The team which was supposed to annihilate and overpower every opponent in its path lost three in a row Wednesday night and is presently languishing at 8-7 for the season.
From day one the mantra has been on the Miami side ‘Give us some time’. The question is ‘just how much time do they need’. Is there really a problem of lack of co-ordination between the team or is there no coordination at all.
Think of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade running through the defenses of their opponents together. The scenario is shivering enough to comprehend, much less defend. But the situation has been different on the court altogether and even Dwyane Wade admitted that
he did not think winning with James along his side would be so difficult.
"Me and LeBron are going to continue to try to find a way with the game plan we have", Wade said. "We're trying to be effective. We have a great coaching staff; I'm sure they'll look at things and see how to utilize us a little better".
Erik Spoelstra has so far been unable to define the roles for his players. With so much talent both on and off the bench, the continuous poor performances against the high profile league teams accompanied by some blemishes against the lightweights as well
are just incomprehensible.
The Heat's sluggish start has fueled fodder for the Heat's critics. Even Lakers coach Phil Jackson ranted that at this rate Eric Spoelstra could soon be jobless. Reactions emerged from the Miami camp at those comment, but there might be a time when there
will be no response if the Heats don’t start to play up to their potential and that also soon.
