Miami Heat forward Chris Bosh sidelined for game 6 against Indiana Pacers with abdominal muscle strain – NBA Update
Miami Heat All Star forward Chris Bosh was ruled out of game 6 against the Indiana Pacers on Thursday after he was not physically fit to play. Bosh has been recovering from a strained abdominal muscle that he injured in game 1 of the series against the Indiana
Pacers. He has been in Miami for the past 10 days working on his core strength and has not yet started basketball related activities. The only chance he has of returning to the line up this season is if Miami extend their season by beating the Pacers.
“Im just hoping that everyone can keep doing what they're doing and extend the season. I do have a chance to play again. That's the light at the end of the tunnel for me. That keeps me going every day” said Bosh on Wednesday talking to ESPN.com at the American
Airlines Arena.
The Heat lost two games in a row in the absence of Bosh after winning game 1. They have since made a comeback in the series, winning two straight games and leading the series 3-2. They can close out the series on Thursday. If they progress into the next
round, they will have Bosh back and will be in strong contention to make it to the NBA Finals. However, the team has not yet given any timetable for Bosh’s return.
"I've come a far way in a week. I was kind of nervous initially but it wasn't the worst news I could have gotten. I just have to keep believing and stay mentally strong. I think I'm healing at a very fast rate right now” Bosh added.
Bosh averaged 14.7 points and 6.8 rebounds in the playoffs this year before being sidelined with injury. He is a crucial member of the Heat squad, part of the big three of Miami. His importance to the team was truly fully appreciated when he went out, as
the Heat struggled on the interior and had limited scoring options, making their game predictable.
The big men that took his place were unable to stop Indiana, as they had a height and size advantage with Roy Hibbert and Paul George. His return will bring back some balance into the Heat line up, who are working hard and doing so many different things
to cover up for his loss.
