Miami Heat guard Mike Miller still unsure about his future – NBA Update
Playing in possibly the last game of his career, Mike Miller put up a show that will be remembered for ages.
Despite a triple double nigh from LeBron James and 20 point performances from Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, Miami`s standout performer in  Game 5 of the NBA Finals was Miller. He made 7 three pointers in the contest to rack up 23
points in over 23 minutes played. The effort left him just one trey short of matching the exploits of the greatest three point shooter ever to grace the league, Ray Allen. However, he did break the record for most three pointer knocked down by a reserve.
Miller`s career has been filled with injuries and this season was no different. He played with back injuries on Thursday night and now after helping his team secure the all elusive Championship, the question regarding his future
will be answered in the next few days.
"It's been a roller-coaster ride for everybody," said Miller, "Everyone is dealing with something. Through the injuries, I'm just glad they didn't take me back to the barn and put me down. I'm just happy to be here."
Ever since he was acquired by Miami two years when the South Beach organization was looking to form a team around their newly signed Big Three, Miller has been under the scrutiny for his below par performances and that has mostly
been due to injuries.
Miller played most of this year`s playoff with back issues and over the course of two seasons, he had to deal with injuries to his thumb, ankle and shoulder. Before the start of this season, he also went through a surgery to recover
from a sports hernia injury.
Despite his maverick performance in Game 5, Miller now knows that time is running out for him;
"I've got to make the best decision, not only for the organization, for the players that work every night, for the Arison’s who believed in me, for coach Riley for bringing me here, and then my family," Miller said. "Just got to
make sure it's the best one. If it is, I couldn't picture a better point to go out on top like this as a champion. But we'll see. We'll visit the doctors and see what parts work and don't, and go from there."
The guard still has some time before he finally chooses to make a decision regarding his career; however Miller has one thing to look forward to immediately and that is the victory parade on Monday at 11 am.
