Miami Heat knock down the Chicago Bulls 96-85 to go 2-1 up in series – Part1
On Sunday night, Miami Heat overwhelmed a spirited Chicago Bulls side to win game-3 of the Eastern Conference Finals. The game was very even for the first three quarters but Miami simply overpowered Chicago in the final period
to get their seventh consecutive home win during the playoffs. Miami’s star power showed once again and they ended the game at 96 – 85.
It was Chris Bosh’s night, who finished with a game high 34 points. LeBron James, so often the main scoring threat for Miami, turned into a provider tonight with 10 assist. He also contributed with 22 points, including ten in the
last quarter. Dwyane Wade, the last cog of the Big Three, almost had a double-double with 17 points and 9 rebounds.
Chris Bosh has been somewhat in the shadow of LeBron James and Dwyane Wade during the playoffs. The forward though kept working hard for the side as the two dynamos hogged the limelight. He has now come up big in the Eastern Conference
Finals, showing his worth to the team. Bosh was pleased with his own display and said he was happy to do well for the team,
"I just wanted to be aggressive and just have some kind of imprint on this series," said Bosh, who's in the conference finals for the first time. "I had an aggressive Game 1, Game 2 was so-so, but we still won. But out here on
the home floor I just wanted to be aggressive and it turned out to be a good game."
Carlos Boozer had the best game for Chicago on the night. Boozer led the Bulls in points scored and rebounds grabbed, with 26 and 17 respectively. After his much maligned performance in game-2, Boozer produced a superb display
in game-3, however he didn’t have too much support from his teammates. League MVP Derrick Rose was better from the field than the previous game but couldn’t manage more than 20 points. Luol Deng had 14 points and 8 rebounds in the loss.
Chicago started the brighter of the two sides and after some intense exchanges early on, took a 4 point lead halfway through the first quarter when Rose drove to the rim. However that basket marked the last high point for the Bulls
as the Heat came back strong and took the lead during an 11-3 run. The quarter ended with Miami on top at 18 – 15.
The second quarter was a higher scoring affair than the first, although the teams matched each other all the way in it. Miami looked to pull away early with a 7 – 2 run but Chicago hauled them back. With 5:10 remaining and the
gap just 1 point, Miami made a 6-2 sprint to try and get some breathing space, however the Bulls cut the lead to 3 before the end. Both teams scored 25 points in the period before the break as Miami maintained the status quo at 43 – 40.
