Miami Heat players and the overseas options – NBA Feature (Part 4)
Eddie House:
The Heat acquired Eddie House in 2010. At that time, he had a career average of 7.5 points and 1.7 rebounds per game. The 33 year old is not just inconsistent in remaining with a team for long time, but he is also an inconsistent
scorer who also lacks the precision in shooting.
In addition to that, House is third string point guard that comes after Carlos Arroyo and Mario Chalmers. In the last season with the Heat, he tallied just 6.5 points and 1.6 rebounds per game.
With these stats and inconsistency, also comes the issue of age. Erik is of the veterans in the Heat outfit and his role has mainly been to inject some pace into the game in short bursts. With these attributes, it might be hard
for him to find an overseas team that is interested in acquiring his service.
Erick Dampier:
The 36 year old Erick Dampier joined the Miami Heat in November 2010, when the team was really in need of a centre. However, the six foot 11, whose best average during a season was 12.3 points per game that came way back in 2003-04
season with the Golden State Warriors, failed to a make an impression.
Besides not availing the golden opportunities he had in his career so far, Dampier’s unsuccessful journey in the league was a result of his inconsistent effort as a result of his deficiencies in the play. Being a centre Erick can
hardly dunk the ball in the rim, moreover the 265 pound didn’t have the stamina to find his way up and down the court, especially during the extended times.
Dampier played 51 games from the Heat in the previous season during which he was utilized as a starter in 22 meets. During that season he played for 16 minutes on average and was able to tally just 2.5 points and 3.4 rebounds per
game. This makes Dampier the most useless player to have on the roster.
Finding a deal across the sea is not an option for Dampier, it will be best for him to start thinking about a business or a job that he can continue after his retirement, if the Heat forced him out of the team in the next season
because after that it wouldn’t be possible for him to find a place in any other team.
