NBA’s defending championsMiami Heat continue to add players to their roster for training camp and have now re-signed their former guard Terrel Harris.
Coming out of Oklahoma State in 2009, Harris went drafted and was picked up by Miami on December 10th 2011. He took part in 22 games last season which included one start and held an average of 3.6 points, 2.3 rebounds
and 1.2 assists in the limited 14.5 minutes of playing time.
Harris’s highlight performance of last season came during a triple overtime 116-109 victory over the Atlanta Hawks in which he grabbed a career high 14 rebounds.
Also on the same night, he combined with Udonis Haslem, who had 11 rebounds to become only the fifth pairing of bench players to grab double figure rebounds. He also featured in 4 games during the post season and racked up a total
of five points and three rebounds in just about 10 minutes of playing time. He also has a Championship ring with Miami from last season.
Before coming to the Heat, Harris spent time in the D-League, playing for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers. In his time with the Vipers, he recorded 17.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.7 assists, 2.14 steals on average. He also shot the ball
56.6% from the field and 42.9% from beyond the arc.
Prior to playing for the Vipers, Harris also featured in six games for the German Bundesliga outfit, EnBW Ludwigsburg and put up an average of 2.5 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1 assists by shooting the ball 33.3% from the field.
Harris’s other professional experiences have included spending some time with the Maine Red Claws of the Development League while also playing for the Strasbourg IG of the French league.
Miami now have 16 players on their roster for training camp and are allowed to invite up to 20 players as per the NBA standards.
