Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade eyes return against the Boston Celtics on Tuesday – NBA Update
Miami Heat`s star guard, Dwyane Wade has said that he will be making a return to the court against the Boston Celtics on Tuesday. However he did not say much about how his ankle feels and will he be able to successfully make a return in a game of such high magnitude.
Wade, who injured his right ankle after landing awkwardly on a missed dunk in a loss to the Memphis Grizzlies last Friday, returned to practice on Monday and did some shooting to get the feeling back to his feet. When asked about how his ankle feels, he was even reluctant to tell the reporters which ankle was injured in the first place. He only said.
“I'm all right," Wade said. "I feel better." "I don't want to talk about injuries," Wade said. "I'm playing [Tuesday] and that's all I'm really concerned about."
This does suggest that the All-Star guard has made his decision to return and nothing can change his mind. This determination to return to action truly portrays the level of support he has for his team mates which is not surprising as it must be very hard to sit out of the action and be unable to enjoy the game.
However the final decision still lies with Miami`s head coach Erik Spoelstra, who was fairly happy with the practice Wade had put in. He didn’t comment much on the injury and went on to contemplate about this being a game time decision, suggesting that he is still is not sure whether to put Wade on the court or let him rest.
"He was able to do a lot more [Monday]," Coach Erik Spoelstra said. "He's doing some shooting so we'll evaluate him each day and see what happens."
Wade has recently missed two games, one against Philadelphia 76ers and one against the Detroit Pistons – Both wins for the Heat. Miami have played 11 games without Wade this season and have had little trouble in those games as they have only lost 1 and won 10. So it isn’t much of haphazard situation for the Heat in which they absolutely need to have Wade on the court.
In his absence the rest of the squad has stepped up significantly, the most prominent being LeBron James who almost single handed, runs the Miami offence. James who has been named the Player of the Week for the fifth time this season, and his fellow team mates have stepped up the ante prominently.
However the Heat will have to pull out all the stops if Wade sits out as this matchup. It could be a preview of what is to come in the playoffs as both sides have looked in spectacular form recently. When asked about the matchups against the Celtics, Coach Spoelstra suggested that James might have to guard 4 or even 5 players off Boston at one point during the game.
