Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade re-iterates to stand by LeBron James – NBA Update
The Miami Heat are beginning to look like a tightly knit unit, which is strange considering we are still in the offseason, with no scope of a NBA season in the near future.
The reason for it is that Miami’s star guard Dwyane Wade has one again expressed his support to LeBron James, saying the two will work together and get better, till they get their goal of multiple NBA World Championships.
"The one thing about me and LeBron is we want this to work, we want to win championships or compete for championships," Wade said according to South Florida Sun Sentinel. "So we want to do everything in our power to make sure it works."
It was almost a year ago that Wade, James and Chris Bosh went up on a stage in Miami to celebrate their arrival and it was then, they promised the Heat fans of multiple NBA World Championships.
However, things did not exactly go according to the plan in their first year. The Big Three found it tough early on, struggling to gel as a unit and faced hostility from NBA fans around the league. But, as the season progressed they got their act together, and were a force to be reckoned with in the playoffs.
After running over the likes of Boston Celtics and the Chicago Bulls in the East, the Heat found Dirk Nowitzki between them and NBA glory. After a hard fought series, the season ended on a disappointing note for LeBron and Wade.
However, the duo is not one to give up after a setback.
They are certainly not going to give up on each other, as Wade reaffirmed his belief that the two can work and be successful together.
"We're stuck together," said the Heat star with a smile on his face. "We're married together for the next five years, so we want to do our best."
Dwyane, James and Bosh all signed long term contracts with the Heat last summer. They also represent the most talented trio of athletes anywhere in the league. That means they are also unlikely to be broken up through a trade, as whatever anyone can offer to Miami in return, would probably not improve the team too much. So, the three of them know that they are in it together.
The trio have kept in touch with each other during the summer, and will be out playing charity games soon enough. Wade has actually seen LeBron a few times and is very encouraged with how his teammate keeps getting better all the time.
"Well, I've worked out with him a few times this summer, so I've seen that the progress is going well," he said. "I mean, obviously he has the ability to be one of the best post players in the game."
He specifically mentioned the Chosen One’s post game because LeBron was criticized over it last season. If he is getting better at that as well, it could prove to be a very tough year for defences around the league.
