Miami Heat star LeBron James: I Will Be Dominant – NBA Update
The Miami Heat super star LeBron James has sent out a warning to the rest of the NBA just when the playoffs are about to begin; he is back to who he was before joining the franchise. That is, he is ready to be the dominant player he used to be, the one that
took over games, and the one that decided matches on his own.
LeBron has all the ability in the world to do that. He is arguably the best basketball player in the world, and has been for a few years now. However when he moved to the Heat after leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers in acrimonious circumstances, he did not
know what to do.
"I have to be who I am," James said according to the Herald Sun. "Last year was the biggest teacher. The greatest teacher in life is experience. And I had that last year. I'm back to being the person who can take over games.”
LeBron didn’t really want to do that when he arrived at Miami. James had been a single super star in Cleveland. He was the undisputed leader of the team and the focal point of all that happened there. IN Miami however things seemed different, James was paired
up not only with Chris Bosh, but also with Dwyane Wade.
Dwyane Wade is a former NBA World Champion with the Heat and Miami was billed as his team, so when James came over, he didn’t know if he should take up the mantle of the leader of the team. That though is no longer the case.
"I have no problem taking over a game now."
This change in his attitude is obviously the result of having been at the club long enough and having gone through the experience last year. However, the fact that LeBron is now comfortable enough to get in this mode also reflects on the attitude of Dwyane
Wade.
Wade has welcomed LeBron since day one and it is his understanding of the situation, friendship with him and appreciation of LeBron’s talent that has helped both players settle in. Dwyane is happy that LeBron is taking over the role of a leader on the team,
talking more to his teammates and being a bigger influence overall.
"Obviously, last year we kind of got cheated a little bit out of the greatness of LeBron as a vocal leader," Wade said.
"But this year, especially of late, we've all been getting the vocal player, the intelligent player that LeBron is. His IQ of the game is second to none. So you listen. Especially me.”
Analysts, notably Charles Barkley, have commented that for Miami to win the NBA World Championship this season, LeBron will have to take charge and perform like a super star. James too it seems has drawn the same conclusion.
