Miami Heat star LeBron James still expecting a quick-fix on the NBA lockout
Since losing the National Basketball Association Finals against the Dallas Mavericks, LeBron James has spent his summer rather quietly by his standards.
James is one of the very few players in the league, who believe that things will return to normal and expects that a quick-fix on the National Basketball Association lockout can take place.
While paying a surprise visit to the boys and girls of the Kendall Club after his trip to the South Florida youth on Saturday, James expressed his views over the uncertain situation prevailing in the league.
"I have a lot of hope, because I love the game of basketball, I want to play it," he said. "So when we get something done, the union and the owners, when we get something done, I'll be ready.
"I feel this game is so precious to everyone, not only to the players."
James was at the Boys & Girls Club of Miami-Dade for the handing over of a refurbished court, which was presented by Sprite’s Sparks Project. Besides renovation of the court, Sprite’s Spark Project’s $15,000 donation also included
a fresco in the facility by an artist LEBO, who belongs to South Florida.
James visit at the occasion came as a surprise and he later expressed delight over the fact that he could bring happiness on the faces of the children.
"They had no clue. And those are the best ones, when you get those reactions right off hand. Any time I'm able to be in this position I kind of just live for it. These kids get to benefit from it long after I'm done playing basketball,"
James said.
While most of the players including his star team mate and friend Dwyane Wade are exploring overseas option during the lockout, James has been busy playing pickup games and doing charity work.
According to the schedule released by the NBA, training camps will begin from October 3 and Miami will play their first game on November 2 against the Carmelo Anthony’s New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
Although, the CBA talks are still in a limbo, Dwyane Wade and Mario Chalmers worked out together on Saturday. James said that he is also looking forward to join them in a couple of days. He also told that up till now, Heat players
hadn’t planned any team workouts during this lockout.
For the time being, James still has some things to tie up that includes a pro-am game in Philadelphia next Sunday. Stars like Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Durant and Chris Paul will also feature in the game alongside with James.
